I was taught to use around 80ml per full body and I’m starting to think that’s heavy. What’s a typical ml range for a full-body HVLP tan, and how do you set the gun up so clients aren’t soaked?

Happy to hear what you use for average vs taller clients too.

80ml is on the heavy side for many HVLP full bodies — a lot of pros land nearer 40–60ml depending on client size, overlap, and how wet the liquid lays. Soaking usually means too close, too slow, or the fan pattern too narrow.

Set a medium fan, keep a consistent 10–15cm-ish distance (follow your training), and move continuously. You want an even mist, not drips.

Weigh a few tans (cup before/after) for a week so you learn your real average — then adjust for petite vs tall without guessing.
