I’ve started offering more express 1–3 hour develops for busy clients. Do they genuinely fade faster than a full overnight, or is aftercare the bigger factor either way?

Trying to set expectations honestly without putting people off the rapid option.

Express can look a touch lighter or fade a little sooner for some clients because total DHA uptake is often lower in a short window — but aftercare usually dwarfs that difference. Poor moisturising, hot baths, and chlorine will trash an overnight tan just as fast.

I tell people: express is for timing, overnight is for maximum depth when they have the hours. Same moisturise-twice-daily rule either way.

If longevity is the priority for a wedding week, overnight (or a proven longer-wear liquid) plus solid aftercare beats rushing an express and then over-exfoliating.
